The great pumpkin hunt

Finding the flag pole in the corn maze

Picking the cotton

Last Saturday we took the kids to the pumpkin patch with our small group. We were encouraged to invite someone new to go with us. We invited our neighbor who didn't go with us. The morning of the pumpkin patch started with lots of " I can't wait to do this..... I can't wait to see this..." Justin was remembering all the times we went to Bishop's. We love Bishops so to not go this year was hard, but we loved getting to take the time with our small group. We all meet up at our leaders house and headed off. We had about eight families going with us. We only got lost twice, we turned around in a field and the Baptist Church parking lot. Lots of funny things happened. But we found the pumpkin patch. It's was just a little chilly that day a whopping 49 degrees outside and the wind was blowing. Good thing for heavy winter jackets. We bundled up and got on the hay ride. The old farmer, okay really old farmer took us around the cotton fields and we stopped to go though a corn maze. The boys enjoyed it, but I not really sure Jacob got the point of walking around in the corn. The farmer even let the kids pick some cotton. Then it was off to find the great pumpkin. Justin loved looking for his pumpkin. We were the last family to find pumpkins. We looked and looked. Jacob found a cute little one and then dropped it and that was the end of that pumpkin. The you have to carry your own pumpkin rule went out the door and so the boys got some really big pumpkins. We really did enjoy ourselves. Some times we have to stop and look for the little things to enjoy.
