Christmas Tree Pictures

Just some fun pictures of the kids in front of the Christmas tree. Enjoy

SNOW

Yes, we did get snow last weekend with the Blizzard of 2009. It was just a little very little dusting. The boys were really excited about it. Justin really wants it to snow so we will see what happens. I don't think it will ever really snow here but maybe we will go some were where it does snow.

Justin's Preschool Christmas Program

Justin, just started preschool this month and he loves it. He's school had a little Christmas program one morning this past week. Justin did great. He got right up on stage and sang his songs and did all the hand monitions. Red and I were very proud of him. He has come along way in just the last few weeks.

Thanksging Pictures

So this year Thanksgiving was a little crazy but we loved it. We had Grandma and Grandpa Rademacher out for a visit in the middle of being flooded out of our house. We made do and had a great time running around to see as much as we could in a few days.

We took them out to Edenton, which is a little town to the west of us. (Yes, its weird saying to the west of us. I am used to saying to the east of us.) They have a great little river light house that they took off the river and are hopping to restore. Plus they have one of the better parks around.

Then we took them to the Outer Banks for some shopping and beach combing and to another light house. We went and saw the Bodie Lighthouse. Well they did I stayed in the van with Jacob since he was sleeping. We had a great time. I will always love the beach. It has such a calming effect for me. Even after the storm. I loved it.

Home

We are finally home. It's been almost three weeks that we have been out of our house since it flooded. Never again do I want to do this. Our world is not ours to control and letting that happen is one of the hardest things I have ever done. We were lucky since we had a place to go but just thinking of what it would have been like to not have a place to go was scary. In this last few weeks I have given up so much control over things. I can't believe it. I spent a lot of time in prayer and giving so much over to God. He carried us though this.

Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving more then ever we have lots to be thankful for. We have lots of friends and family who love us. We had a great move that has been full of adventures. We have an awesome God who is showing us the true meaning to be thankful that we have each other. Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.

Update

Okay sorry it's been a crazy month so I have not been able to post any pictures. We got flooded out of our house two weeks ago. We had almost four inches of water in our living room. Fun times to be had. We moved all of the living room furniture and put the washer and dryer up of blocks. We moved to coast guard housing just for two weeks. We will leave housing Tuesday and move into the MRW trailers for another two weeks hopping and praying they finish the house before our two weeks is up. We are all doing great other wise. Just trying to get though this miss.

Pumpkins and Costumes

I helped the boys carve two pumpkins this week. Glad that's over with. Sharp little knives in little fingers make for big messes. I did have a good time doing it with them. Justin did most of his own carving with just a little help. Jacob watched me do all the work.

I took a few pictures of the boys in their costumes before tomorrow other wise I wont get any. Jacob is an elephant and Justin is a nice dragon. They look super cute.

OBX 10/2009

Since Red is gone for two weeks I decide to do something fun with the boys. I have been wanting to take them out to the beach since they love it so much. We went last Thursday. The weather was great, the boys were great. They played in just the sand for two an half hours. How can I top that. It was a great day for us to go out since the season is over on the outer banks (obx) nobody was on the beach. We had a half mile or more to our selves and some birds. We built sandcastles and just played in the water. The boys at the end did try to run from the waves just to get there feet wet. I really love the picture that I got of the boys facing the ocean and holding on to each other. My other favorite it me with the boys. I never get a chance to be with them in a picture so after several tries we have one of us.

Pumpkin Patch

The great pumpkin hunt

Finding the flag pole in the corn maze
Picking the cotton

Last Saturday we took the kids to the pumpkin patch with our small group. We were encouraged to invite someone new to go with us. We invited our neighbor who didn't go with us. The morning of the pumpkin patch started with lots of " I can't wait to do this..... I can't wait to see this..." Justin was remembering all the times we went to Bishop's. We love Bishops so to not go this year was hard, but we loved getting to take the time with our small group. We all meet up at our leaders house and headed off. We had about eight families going with us. We only got lost twice, we turned around in a field and the Baptist Church parking lot. Lots of funny things happened. But we found the pumpkin patch. It's was just a little chilly that day a whopping 49 degrees outside and the wind was blowing. Good thing for heavy winter jackets. We bundled up and got on the hay ride. The old farmer, okay really old farmer took us around the cotton fields and we stopped to go though a corn maze. The boys enjoyed it, but I not really sure Jacob got the point of walking around in the corn. The farmer even let the kids pick some cotton. Then it was off to find the great pumpkin. Justin loved looking for his pumpkin. We were the last family to find pumpkins. We looked and looked. Jacob found a cute little one and then dropped it and that was the end of that pumpkin. The you have to carry your own pumpkin rule went out the door and so the boys got some really big pumpkins. We really did enjoy ourselves. Some times we have to stop and look for the little things to enjoy.

Norfolk Zoo

On Sunday we took the boys up to the Virgina Norfolk zoo for Military Appreciation day. The place was packed. The boys did great with all of the people. I think we will go back again when it's not so busy. Justin said that he loved all of the animals and Jacob said he really loved the Giraffe. I even got a cute picture of him waving to the Giraffe's.

Fishing Poles

The boys got there new fishing poles in the mail yesterday. I ordered them from kidswoot.com for like 7.99 for both and with only $5 shipping I had to get them. So Justin saw the boxes and was like what's in there. I just had to tell him. He loved it and could wait for Jacob to get up from his nap to show him. The boys wanted me to put them together and get right outside and start fishing. Justin's really good, but he has also had one before. Jacob stills needs lots of help but its so fun to watch them casting in the front yard. I can't wait to take them real fishing. It will be good times for all of us.

Neptune Festival

Last weekend we tried to take the boys up to Virgina Beach to go to the Neptune Festival. We drove the hour up there to get rained out after being there for five minutes. We never saw the sand castles that we drove up to see. Oh well the boys had fun playing at the play ground in the rain.

Lightning

Here in NC we have some great lightning storms. We have been trying all summer long to catch one on camera. We love the storms they show an amazing beauty from God. This one that we caught on camera came from over the trees with this fierce looking black cloud. The storm was fierce yet so quite and beautiful. Luckily with this storm there was no thunder and the rain came later. Enjoy Red's photos.

Busch Gardens

Riding the swings
All three boys on this ride. They all rode it three times.
Back on Labor Day weekend we took the boys up to Busch Gardens for a little bit of fun. Justin took a while to warm up to riding the rides but once he got going he was hard to stop. Jacob loved all the rides that he could ride. Busch Gardens was great because every area that you went into had kid rides so they got to ride lots of rides and see the whole park. Sorry not to many pictures I was busy riding the rides with the kids. Red even got a few roller coasters in.
