Update

Yes, we are still here. Things are going great. Red is back to flying. Jacob is doing great after his surgery. He was up and about the next day like nothing happened. We are in a new small group made up of just coasties which is good. I can meet some new friends and the boys can make up as well. I am walking almost every morning. I am hopping to try and make is up to three miles every morning this week. If the weather agrees with me I will.

Flood Waters

It rained almost 18 inches in 24hrs here or so we were told. We felt every inch of the 18 inches. We have the swamp next to us and when you add a lot of water in a short amount of time it over flows into our yard and our house. We were very lucky yesterday that the water never came in the house. We only had about two or three inches to go and we would have had a flooded living room and laundry room. We didn't think we were going to get the van out of the garage but we did. Luckily we only lost a few things out of the garage. We woke up at about 6:15 Saturday morning. I took the boys downstairs while Red was getting ready for work. I knew the swamp was full and it had rained during the night so I looked outside and found that we were surround by water. Crazy feeling. I called Red down was like WOW. So he hurried to get dressed because he had duty that morning. And the rest is history. What a day. We lived though it. We made a good time of it and thanked God last night that the water didn't come in the house. We are so very thankful.

Puddle Jumpin

On Friday it rained here. It rains all the time but we usually have thunder and lighting that go with it. So this time we didn't have all the extra stuff. Red suggested we let the boys play in the puddles outside. The little and big boys had a blast out there in the puddles. Red got the skim board out and was riding it on the lawn.

Ice Cream

Tonight after dinner I decide that we needed a treat. Most nights we wait until the boys go to bed to have a treat, but they have been good this week so we decide to go to Dairy Queen for ice cream. We got our ice cream to go. We live like two minutes from DQ. Then we let the boys wild in the back yard with the ice cream. These are just a few pictures of the fun Jacob had with his ice cream cone. He actually held in so tight that it broke and melted all over his hands.

Beach trip

Last weekend we decide to have a family day at beach. So we drove to our new favorite spot the outer banks. The boys loved it. We took a picnic lunch and just a had a great day together. We got to the beach at about 9:30 and didn't leave until 2pm. It took a little convincing to get them into the car, but Jacob was asleep in five minutes. All Jacob talks about is the beach and he asks every day if we are going to the beach.

Riding Bikes

Most evening or in the mornings we have been out riding our bikes. Justin loves to ride his and its a great way for him to burn a little energy off. Jacob loves to ride in the bike trailer. So one evening we decide to see if Justin was ready to ride is bike with no training wheels. He did good. He just needs a little more confidence to be able to ride alone. Jacob is just working on peddling his bike. He really likes it when mommy does all the work. :-)

Update

So here's a little update for everyone on how we are doing.

We are loving North Carolina. The humidity isn't very fun but we are adjusting to it. The bugs, what can I say about the bugs. There's lots of them. Ugly ones, small ones, big ones, biting bugs, stinging bugs, just lots of bugs.

Justin is doing well. He has stopped taking naps. Oh my. I am adjusting to life with out a nap. He is as busy as ever. He is always talking and talking. He loves to make up story's about things. The kid just goes on about everything. He is looking forward to preschool, as long as I can find one.

Jacob, man we moved and he just decide to become a big boy. He is potty training. He started on his own and I just jumped in to help him along the way. He has mostly stopped using sippy cups. He is talking more. He is a sweet heart. Jacob, does a have a hernia in his groin that we are having fixed on August 18th. What adventure that one is going to be. Jacob is just so full of life. Both boys love it here. They like all the playing outside that they can do. The love to talk with the neighbors and wave to all the neighbors.

Red and I are doing great. We have our rough spots but after moving 3,000 miles who doesn't. Red is back to work and getting into the way of it. I am settling back down into my routine with the boys. We have found a small church that we like.
